ECONOMIC FOCUS BY COUNTRY
Singapore has a highly industrialized economy that is strongly geared towards the world market thanks to international networking and tax incentives. The most important branches of industry include the oil processing industry, the electronics industry and mechanical engineering, and increasingly also biotechnology. In some service areas, particularly in transport, logistics and finance, Singapore is an international hub. In terms of area, the smallest country in Southeast Asia is aiming for a leading position in selected areas such as information, biotechnology and genetic engineering.

The economy of Brunei in northwest Borneo is almost entirely geared towards the production of oil and natural gas. Revenues in this sector make up 95% of export revenues and contribute around two thirds to GDP. On the basis of the natural gas reserves, the sultanate is aiming to locate further petrochemical industries. More than half of the labor force works in the public service, manual activities are mostly taken over by labor immigrants from the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, etc. For more information about the continent of Asia, please check topb2bwebsites.com.
